COVID Sport FAQ

Can I enter the centre to warm up prior to my booking/game time?

To ensure we stay within the current government guidelines, participants and officials cannot enter the court area earlier than the designated time prior to their game or before the participants and officials of the previous game have departed.

Can I pay cash for my booking?

We encourage guests to utilise cash free procedures to reduce the chance of transmission between the user and employee.

How long can I stay in the centre?

All bookings are for the specified time on the booking page. At the end of your session, please collect your belongings and exit the facility to allow staff to clean and prepare for the next session.

What measures are the Y putting in place to protect customers and staff?

We are taking all possible steps to keep our staff and customers safe whilst in our centres. These include:
•    Sneeze screens at cashier points
•    Social distancing markers at queuing areas
•    Signage and notices for customers in prominent locations throughout the centre
•    Encouragement of contactless pay
•    Hand sanitiser at the entry and key points throughout the centre
•    Increased cleaning schedules
•    Meeting physical distancing requirements
•    Adhering to maximum numbers allowed in each space
•    Maintaining a register of all people on site
•    We request if you are unwell you do not attend the centre.

We ask that customers and staff do not attend the centre if they are unwell. Anyone who is observed to be reasonably displaying symptoms (for example persistent coughing) of illness will be politely asked to leave the centre.

Can I shower in the centre after my session?

Physical spacing needs to be maintained in change rooms which means this will vary depending on the site and size of the facilities. Participants should arrive at a stadium ready to play to reduce to crowding.

What do I need to bring with me when I visit the centre?

To minimise the risk of spreading infection and as per NSW and ACT Health Guidelines, visitors to the centre are required to bring a personal towel and drink bottle and not share these with others. All water fountains are currently unavailable. Water can be purchased from our front desk.

Can I borrow a ball to play socially?

Basketballs and limited stadium equipment may be available for hire at your Centres discretion. Any equipment provided by the venue will be sanitised prior to use each day and in between each game. Any equipment brought into a stadium should be sanitised prior to use (preferably upon entry) and must be taken with you at the conclusion of your session.

Are there any changes to player contact during and after games?

To ensure the safety of all players, please ensure unnecessary contact (e.g. handshakes, high fives, pushing off the ball) does not occur.

What If I accidently make contact with another player during an activity?

To reduce the risk of infection in a game when there will be some incidental contact hand sanitisers will be required on both team benches. Players and referees will be required to use hand sanitisers at every break in the game, including timeouts, and when substitutions move in and out of the game.

Are there any changes to game rules?

Participants must arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before schedule events, and will be permitted into the stadium when staff direct them to do so. Basketball Games will not be started with a jump ball. Instead a coin toss will occur to determine which team will have first possession. Netball Games will be conducted on a 7 minute per quarter format

Are Spectators permitted to enter the stadium?

Spectators are discouraged from entering the centre. If pick up or drop off is required, we encourage the use of the carpark. Spectators participating or assisting with an activity are permitted with approval from the facility staff.

How should I travel to the venue?

Where possible, participants should avoid car pooling with people from different households.

Can I stay in the centre if I am playing in multiple games on the one night?

No participants will not be permitted in the centre unless for scheduled competition. If you are registered for multiple games, you must leave the centre and return for your scheduled event.
