THE Y BANKSTOWN CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASE
Today we received confirmation that a customer from the Y Bankstown City has tested positive with Coronavirus (COVID-19). The customer was in attendance at the centre on 9 July and 11 July 2020.
Our thoughts are with the customer and their family and I would like to reassure you that we have taken immediate action and followed all advice and instruction from the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health and the Y NSW have contacted all directly impacted customers and staff who fall into the ‘close contact’ category. If you have not received a phone call, this is because you are not classified as a ‘close contact’ and do not need to take any immediate action – you can simply monitor for symptoms and act accordingly if any present.
Temporary closure of the Y Bankstown City:
We have also closed the Y at Bankstown. During this closure period an approved COVID-Safe external cleaning company will conduct a deep clean and sanitation to strict specifications to ensure the facility and equipment is thoroughly cleaned at every surface.
We plan to re-open on Monday 20 July, if this needs to change we will provide information closer to Monday.
The Y continues to follow all NSW Health advice and has introduced a series of changes to limit the risk of COVID-19 at our centre, including reduced class sizes, limited access to the centre, a strict cleaning regime and limited sharing of equipment. We ask that all parents and children familiarise themselves with our Reboot Gymnastics Handbook and do your part to reinforce these COVID-Safe efforts.
Fee queries during the temporary closure:
We know you may have some queries around fees during the temporary closure period of the Y Bankstown City. For classes missed this week, we will apply this as a credit to your account, and your debit on 17 July will be reduced accordingly. For students with a class enrolment on Saturday, you will only be billed for one week (due to closure on Saturday 18 July).
We understand this news is concerning. Please be assured that we are working with and following all directions given by the Ministry of Health to ensure the safety of all families, staff and the broader community – this remains our number one priority.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact myself, Shane Simmons, my details are below. Alternatively, you can also contact the Y Bankstown City Centre Manager, Josh Sorbello on: 0429 821 645.
Sincerely,
Shane Simmons
